The Tui is an endemic bird that has thrived in the presence of humans. They are found in New Zealand forests, towns and on off-shore islands.
These attractive birds
sing a distinctive and beautiful melody can also be recognised by their distinctive
white tuft under their throat, which contrasts dramatically with the metallic
blue-green sheen to their underlying black colour.
